Guernsey Milk Has Arrived!

I spent the summer in search of the perfect cows to begin my "Boutique" dairy at The Waldo Way. I chose Guernseys number one because they are beautiful and docile which was a requirement. In addition, their milk is golden because it contains "beta" which gives it a deep, rich, creamy, golden hue. Their milk has a perfect balance of protein and butterfat that makes amazing cheeses.

Meet "Providence", the first cow that I milked. How about that for destiny? Providence is a real jewel to brush-up on my milking skills. She was kind and forgiving as I made a number of mistakes that very first milking.

Me with the first "golden" milk from Providence.

  1. Ohhh--your dream is now reality! Can't wait to taste the yummy Guernsey treats. And, looks like you will need another pottery piece--I'll throw one tomorrow and glaze with earthy tones. Renee
